Sega will be working with Sony Pictures to make the film, but there is also speculation that the movie slated for a 2018 release could be a replacement for the Sega and Sony-announced CG animated film in 2014. During that announcement, it was then mentioned that the CG animated film was in production at Japanese studio “Marza Animation Planet.”
