Five Nights at Freddy’s took the internet by run-down-restaurant storm in 2014 with the introduction of the first game in the series. The Chuck-e-Cheese-esque horror series has not only been immortalized in 4 different FNaF games, but a lot of fan art, 3-D modeling, and more. Now enter: the newest FNaF game, FNaF World!
Developer Scott Cawthon made an announcement via Steam Community discussions on the series on September 15th:
The new game that I’m working on will be called FNAF World. It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I’ve been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week.
A free demo of this new game will be released when the time is right, and hopefully fans will be excited to play as all of the beloved animatronic characters and more. Before official confirmations of the characters’ new names, fans were calling them “Cute Freddy” and “Cartoon Freddy,” etc., until Cawthon revealed they are indeed to be called “Adventure” animatronics (oh yes, I’m ready for “Adventure Cupcake”). Almost all of the characters on the website have been replaced with their Adventure selves at this point.
FNAF World will be released in 2016 on PC, Android, and iOS, and please stay tuned for more updates to come!
