The beautiful Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza will be temporarily closing its doors for a major renovation starting January 19th. On February 19th, it will have evolved into the newly-named “Nintendo NY.” Visitors will notice the mega mushroom this store is taking when they see an updated interior design, new Wii U and Nintendo 3DS demo stations, a 15-foot gaming screen, and much more!
Not only is the store seeing a happy re-design and name change, but it will reopen on February 19th with a series of reopening activities, including giveaways (while supplies last) and appearances by the costumed Mario and Luigi. The new and improved store will be selling exclusive merchandise that can only be purchased that weekend, including a limited-edition T-shirt featuring Mario or Link.
Surely fans in and around New York will do a barrel roll in excitement for the new changes on the weekend of the store’s reopening. The Nintendo World store opened back in 2005, and has two floors of Nintendo goodness. Check out “Nintendo NY” and the events being hosted on February 19th-21st, 2016.
