Minecraft Wii U Edition Coming Soon!

There was once a great debate on whether the renowned Minecraft will ever come to the Nintendo Wii U. After the creator, Notch, openly bashed the Nintendo console, along with the rest of Mojang saying that they were too busy to work on a version for it, hope for an edition to the Wii U died out. Two years later, that hope has been revived. There will now be a Minecraft Wii U edition!

Coming out December 17th, Minecraft: Wii U comes with a great deal just in time for Christmas! Priced at $29.99, it will come with six of the most popular add-on packs with purchase from the eshop. The packs are as follows:

  • Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
  • Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack
  • Natural Texture Pack
  • City Texture Pack
  • Fantasy Texture Pack
  • Festive Mash-up Pack

Nintendo and Mojang are working on future content to be released at a later time, but no word on what that is quite yet. What we do know is that available at launch, you can also purchase the following add-on packs:

  • Festive Skin Pack
  • The Simpsons Skin Pack
  • Doctor Who Skins Volume 1
  • Doctor Who Skins Volume 2
  • Star Wars Classic Skin Pack
  • Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack
  • Star Wars Prequel Skin Pack
  • Mass Effect Mash-up Pack
  • Skyrim Mash-up Pack
  • Plastic Texture Pack
  • Candy Texture Pack
  • Cartoon Texture Pack
  • Steampunk Texture Pack
  • Pattern Texture Pack
  • Greek Mythology Mash-up Pack
  • Halloween 2015 Mash-up Pack

And remember, future add-on packs will be made available in time!

Minecraft Wii U Edition will be able to support up to 4-players split-screen (to function properly, an HD TV is required), and up to 8 online. Or perhaps you’re playing alone but someone else needs the TV. No worries, the gamepad can be used for off-TV gameplay.

That’s all that has been released currently, but be sure to stay tuned! More info is expected closer to the release date!
